Life is all about making mistakes and learning from them. A chain of mistakes becomes an experience and from these we journey through out existence towards our final exam.

Over the years I have tried to understand the nature of life and why we are here. Part of this journey has ben trying to understand the nature of friendships. For ages I thought that friendships meant increasing the list of people to which you would share all of your life stories. I hung on to people from my part and sought them out on an attempt to regain some semblance of lost youth. I’ve recently come to learn that things like social networking and texting have warped the reality of friendships. It is true that there is a finite number of people that will be part of your life for longer than others while things like facebook have allowed us to keep in contact with people that basically have no influence in your existence outside of the place you were at the time of sharing a life experience. Seeking out old work colleagues or old school chums. Or holding onto people that once provided a social interaction but now show as much interest in you as you do on them. Ending an internet bond doesn’t end a friendship it just makes you work harder at saving the ones that mean something.

It’s time to make a change. To make an effort.

Got a nice fire going in the back garden, just sitting out and relaxing. I love it here.
